Gujarat Fortunegiants hammer Telugu Titans 29-19

Gujarat Fortunegiants’ first half blitzkrieg resulted in an easy 29-19 win over Telugu Titans in the Inter Zone Challenge Week of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League. Sachin scored 11 points as Gujarat Fortunegiants continued their impressive run in the league. This was Gujarat’s fifth consecutive win in the fifth season of Pro Kabaddi League.  Telugu Titans’ wretched form continued as they crashed to a seventh defeat. Rahul Chaudhari scored just three points for Telugu Titans.

Gujarat Fortunegiants now have 33 points from eight games in Zone A whereas Telugu Titans are fourth in Zone B with 12 points from nine games.

It was a slow start from both teams as there were a couple of empty raids in the first two minutes. Vikas Kumar scored with a two-point raid in the third minute to give Telugu Titans led 2-0. Sukesh Hegde scored with a bonus point in the fifth minute to tie the game at 2-2. Sachin scored with a two-point raid to give Gujarat Fortunegiants 4-2 lead. Gujarat led 6-3 after nine minutes, as Titans’ star man Rahul Chaudhari couldn’t open his account. It was 7-3 after ten minutes as Gujarat scored their first tackle point of the match.

Sachin scored wit a three-point raid in the 11th minute as Gujarat Fortunegiants inflicted an all out to take a commanding 12-3 lead. Telugu Titans were looking hapless as Sukesh Hegde got into the act and scored with a two-point raid as Gujarat led 15-3 after 13 minutes. Telugu Titans defence had zero tackle points in 14 minutes. A two-point raid by substitute Vinod Kumar in the 16th minute reduced the deficit as Titans trailed 6-15. Rahul Chaudhari opened his account as late as the 17th minute. Sachin had a stellar first half for Gujarat and scored eight points to give his team a solid 20-7 lead at the end of first half.

Telugu Titans scored two points in two minutes as they trailed 9-20 after 22 minutes. Titans scored their first tackle point of the match in 26th minute to trail 11-21. Gujarat Fortunegiants took their foot off the pedal as they scored just two points in 10 minutes of second half but still led 22-12. Sachin attained a super 10 in the 32nd minute as Gujarat led 24-12.

Rahul Chaudhari had a disappointing match as he couldn’t cope with Gujarat’s defence. With less than five minutes to go, Gujarat Fortunegiants led 25-16. Gujarat’s defence bullied Titans raiders all game long as they racked up nine tackle points to lead 29-17 after 39 minutes. Telugu Titans need to get their season back on track as they never really looked like threatening Gujarat at any point of the match. Gujarat Fortunegiants ran out comfortable winners as they won 29-19.
