ARAMM MOVIE REVIEW

Gopi Nainar’s debut film “Aramm” has Kollywood’s female superstar Nayanthara in the lead. The movie is produced KJR Studios. Gopi was known earlier for claiming the story line of “Katthi”.

Aramm actually begins in an unimpressive way with a scene of the collector being interrogated on a one on one basis and then the story kicks back to a flashback unravelling the reason that forms the crux of the story.

It is then the movie immediately manages take off like a rocket. The impressive build up soar the viewer’s emotions and the audience is glued to the happening on the screen. The plot is picked from the countless “borewell” disasters that the country has faced for long. But where the movie loses its plot is when the movie tries to focus on “politics” and “theatrics” instead. The “messaging” keeps hitting you at regular intervals not just in the form of characters in the movie but also in the form of the crude “TV show” characters.

The first half is amazingly made while in the second half the movie kind of takes the “massy” route that is so much negative as the movie drops down quite a few metres.
Nayanthara is quite dignified in her role and even when she delivers her “punches”. Others in the movie are brilliant and to take one name would be injustice.

The performances provide the much needed authenticity and Aramm rests on these characters to deliver. Though Nayanthara is out there, it is the performances from the rest of the cast that elevates Aramm.

Technically Aramm is brilliant. It is one amazing watch. Om Prakash is brilliant in his work while Ghibran is very good though at times you do feel he gets more indulgent.

Ruben, the editor does an OK job, wondering if he could have been better or was it the director’s influence at the edit table. The dialogues are good and director Gopi hardly looks a first timer and is excellent for a novice. Gopi’s claim on “Katthi” could be vindicated.

ARAMM could have been very well an amazing film, it starts off like the very rocket it makes fun of but ends up like the bore well it talks of.

ARAMM- SEYYA VIRUMBU !!
