Director P Ranjith has revealed that Superstar Rajinikanth scolded him during the dubbing of ‘Kabali’, when he requested him to re-dub certain portions.“Normally, Rajini sir would not allow the director to be present while dubbing. Hence, I was not there during the first day of ‘Kabali’ dubbing. Later in the day, when I went through the portions, I was not fully satisfied,” Ranjith said in an interview to a Tamil magazine.
He added: “So I went to his home and requested him to allow me during dubbing. Rajini sir got angry and said I could stay around, but he would not re-dub the first day portions. I too agreed. Later, on the last day of dubbing, I requested him to re-do the first day portions. He smiled and said, “you are one of the three directors who troubled me a lot.” He also promptly re-dubbed.”
Ranjith said that Rajini watched ‘Kabali’ before he left for the United States and was thoroughly impressed. He also telephoned from the US and said that he was fully satisfied with the movie, the director added.
