Nasser files complaint at police commissioner’s office

IMG-20160829-WA0009The tussle in Nadigar Sangam took a new turn on Monday, when its president Nasser arrived at the Chennai city police commissioner’s office and filed a complaint against rebels.

Emerging out of the commissionerate at Vepery, Nasser told reporters that certain persons have been indulging in a malicious campaign by levelling corruption charges against the present office-bearers of the Sangam.

“We are determined to proceed with the construction of a new building for the Sangam after obtaining all necessary permissions from the authorities,” he said and added that he sought police protection for the staff and urged the Commissioner to conduct an inquiry.

Nasser alleged that Varahi, a member of the association who had alleged irregularities in the sangam, had been to the office a couple of days ago and had staged a dharna in front of the building. He said that Varahi and other members also attacked Nadigar Sangam staff members.
