This is what he has to say about his musical journey
My dad wanted me to be successful in the music industry and I worked hard to achieve his dream. I learnt carnatic music at a very young age. I have worked as a keyboard player for Gangai Amaran and ARR too. I have even composed for ad films. Krishna the director of “Jillunu Oru Kadhal” launched me as a music director in the movie “Ippadi Mayakkinai”. But the movie that made me popular was the Anjali – Jai starrer Engeyum Yeppodhum. I worked in many successful films after that. The recently released “Unnodu Ka”, “Velainu Vandhutta Velllakaran” hits have given me the confidence to do better.
I am glad that my daughter Vymitra has sung a song in the movie “Unnodu Ka”. The song “ Ara valli sura valli” song from “Velainu Vandhutta Vellakaran” has become hugely popular. The movies that I am working now are “ Jetli”, “Asurakulam” as well as a movie with director R. Partheepan. So far no actress has sung in the songs that I composed. When I feel a need then I would do so. The back ground score of “Jetli” would be a new style he stated.
