Ucchathil Shiva is by debutant director Jaypee for Devikaran Productions.
The writer director makes his mind to deliver an outrageously loud commercial entertainer. In this nothing plot the story shifts lanes without warning like the driver- hero of the movie. Characters appear and get shot for the simplest of reasons. The screenplay is a lengthy bore and the script borders on being plain stupid.
Karan is back after a long gap with no improvement in his average acting that we are used to in all his earlier movies. He still sticks to his outlandishly coloured and ungenerous stretch of clothes. Neha fails to impress as the female lead with a sad make up and an even sadder role. The others are as loud and silly as you can get.
The cinematography is so so. The dialogues are bland and the editing ineffective. It was a pleasant surprise to see Vidya sagar’s name appear as the music director and the pleasantness lasted only for the moment the name appeared on the screen. The back ground score was a pain and the songs eminently forgettable. The direction barely manages to convince.
