TAMILSELVANUM THANIYAR ANJALUM MOVIE REVIEW

Tamilselvanum_Thaniyar_Anjalum_PosterTTA is by debutant director Premsai in whom Gautham Vasudev Menon has put tremendous faith by producing the same. The movie also interestingly has music by singer Karthik.

The story is quite an interesting one with a plot that appeals. While the movie begins like a typical Jai movie that we are used to and Santhanam helping with his comic canters. It is during the second half that the movie picks up pace and though not to the expectation manages to deliver a standard fare. The screen play could have been racy and required a lot more seriousness. Though there are no surprises and the end can be envisaged, the movie just about manages to hold the attention of the viewers. The logic at certain places beats commonsense and on the whole a movie that could have been told better ends up pretty plain.

Jai with his typical Vijay nuances does what he is known to do. There are many scenes where he reminds us of Vijay. Yami Gautham delivers what is expected in this “I have little to do” role. The villains are less menacing and less intelligent too. Santhanam with his antics keeps the audience entertained and disappears before the climax. Others are quite OK in their roles.

The cinematography works quite well and the background score by Sandeep Chowta adds more zing to the pace. The songs are pretty OK. Dialogues are good and direction for a debutant is quite OK though better planning and intensive handling could have made TTA a better product.

On the whole TTA is an OK watch if there is nothing else to do…
