Kallatam Movie Review

kallattam-movie-review-ratingG Ramesh is a well known cinematographer of Alwar, Black Friday and Tiruda Thirudi as well as many more films and commercials. With Kallatam he takes his first step towards direction.

The story begins interestingly well, the suspense at the beginning is quite intriguing but as the story progresses the script goes wayward and ends up as a routine film. The presentation is quite decent and the cinematographer/director brings all his experience in his previous films for a decent output. The screenplay though predictable is patchy at many places and the script gets muddled with too many issues targeted.

Richard back after a long hiatus is good in his role as a pensive father. He emotes well and is sure to find some more roles in future. Nanda as the police officer takes off from where he left in his previous cop movies. The women in the movie are average while Ilavarasu as the constable is very good.

The cinematographer is jerky while the editing is decent. The dialogues are standard while the music for a debutant fits the commercial tag. The action scenes are badly executed. The director could have done better and stuck to a single plot for a crispier and more engaging movie.
