Sarjun writes and directs this movie that is produced by Sundar Annamalai.
Sarjun is well known for his short films and this is his debut full length feature film. It is not an easy task to move from short films to feature films. Echarikkai has the right knot and premise but suffers from being a tad over ambitious and at the same time is a little tiring with cliches.
The viewer ends up having more questions than answers and there in lies the problem. At the same time its a decent effort for a first timer and has some decent moments.
Vivek impressess as a newcomer while Satyaraj belts out an effortless performance. Kishore and the rest are OK and Varalakshmi is standard.
Sudharashan behind the camera is effective and Sundaramurthy in the music department falters. Dialogues are standard and direction for a newcomer quite decent.
Echarrikkai could have been better
