The film has a very simple plot and the entire film revolves around it rarely digressing. Strangely the screenplay makes the viewer feel like it should have been set in the 90’s. A family struggling for 2000 rs today looks farfetched. What works for the film is it’s unpretentious nature and honesty in the characterisations. The melodrama is subdued and feels more pragmatic. What works much more for the film is its duration. At 95 minutes it as crisp as it can be until the climax which seems longer than the entire film.
Vikrant delivers a decent performance. Ritvika is good too. The rest do their job in an OK fashion.
Gautham Sethuraman’s cinematography is neat. Maria Jerald’s music score works well with the story. Dialogues are good and direction is tidy for a debutant.
DEEPAVALI BONUS is a decent watch !!
