Adiyae is a scientific romance film written and directed by Vignesh Karthick. The film is produced by Prabha Premkumar under the banner Maali & Manvi Movie Makers.
The Tamil Film Industry is not stuck in time travel. We have one more film that takes the time capsule alternating between the real and the imagined. The film takes an unduly long time to explain the theory by which the interest in the audience is waning. What helps is the in between spoofs that seem to bring some laughter. It isn’t easy to follow the proceedings and the writer takes some effort in trying to educate. The audience would be more interested in the comic spoofs on celebrities than the real crux of the story. The romance is lost in the din of the comedy. Unfortunately despite a intriguing story line the film has had to rely on the slapstick comedy to make it largely entertaining and watchable.
GV Prakash is his usual self. Gauri Krishnan takes the cake in performance. Venkat Prabhu is a welcome relief.
Gokul Binoy’s cinematography is colourful. Justin Prabhakaran scores with a melody unfortunately sung by Yuvan. The background score is decent. Dialogues are fine. Direction is neat.
ADIYAE is a decent watch for the unrelenting spoofs !!
