Even as reports claimed that director Suseenthiran has named his next flick as ‘Maaveeran Kittu’ and it is about Sri Lankan Tamils, the ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’ and ‘Paayum Puli’ maker has come up with a clarification.“It has got nothing to do with Sri Lankan Tamils issue. Mine is a period film set in southern Tamil Nadu in the 1980s. It is about a man who fought for the cause of people,” he said.
Actor Vishnu Vishal, who had worked with the director in ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’ and ‘Jeeva’, plays the protagonist of ‘Maaveeran Kittu’, shooting for which commenced on Friday.
Suseenthiran was supposed to start a dual hero subject starring Udhayanidhi Stalin and Vishnu Vishal in the lead. However, due to some ‘unavoidable reasons’, the project was put on hold. Following this, the filmmaker has decided to go ahead with this film.
