The third edition of the Sankar Cement-Tamil Nadu Premier League opened with a grand ceremony at the ICL Sankar Nagar ground in Tirunelveli on Wednesday, July 11.

Cricket hogged the centre-stage thereafter as the captains of the inaugural match walked out for the toss. India’s premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is leading Dindigul Dragons while Baba Indrajith is captaining Ruby Trichy Warriors. The coin favoured Ashwin who chose to bat first.
Next up, the captains of the eight TNPL franchise took the Spirit of Cricket pledge and then autographed a cricket bat. The pledge is the symbol of devotion to fairplay and true spirit.
