Ritika Singh who made a Pan-Indian appeal in her debut movie Irudhi Suttru recently wrapped up the shoot for her second Tamil venture Aandavan Kattalai. The movie directed by Kaaka Muttai Manikandan who is also a national award winning director, is a movie worth waiting for according to Ritika. “Though I haven’t seen Kaaka Muttai, Manikandan’s directorial skills impressed me on the sets of Aandavan Kattalai. He is such a chilled out person and knows exactly what the artiste should deliver,” says the actress. When asked the actress about brushing up the acting skills after Irudhi Suttru, she says, “I believe in delivering the dialogue instantly after going through the script book as I can communicate the cues with perfect emotions. Manikandan trusted my ability and would give me the dialogues just before I get ready for the shot.”

Ritika however admits that she is still learning Tamil and credits Vijay Sethupathi, her Aandavan Kattalai co-star for making her learn Tamil. “Vijay Sethupathi is funny,” she laughs. “In spite of knowing that I am bad at Tamil, he used to give me instructions in the language and mock at me during the shoot. But still it is because of him, I managed to learn quite a few words in Tamil. He encouraged me by saying, ‘Ritika you are intelligent and learning Tamil should never be a problem for you’,” says the actress. Speculations were rife that the actress was approached to play a prominent role in Ajith 57. She played it down and says, “At this point of time I am not supposed to talk anything about the movie or people approaching me for a role,” Apart from Aandavan Kattalai, the actress has been listening to quite a few scripts in Tamil and will be signing a couple of projects soon.
