In an effort to support the budding film makers, Indo-Russian Cinemas in association with Russian Centre for Science and Culture, Chennai announced the launch of PlayButton Short Film Festival 2018, an initiative to promote and recognize the best of young budding talents across Tamilnadu.
“I know the struggles of young film makers and that is why I always wanted to come up with a platform like PlayButton giving a much wider scope they always dream about,” said Venkatesh Kumar, Founder of Indo-Russian Cinemas & PlayButton. “Since 2014 we have screened more than 100 selected short-films at Indo-Russian cinemas every month and of late, we also launched PlayButton Android Mobile App to promote public viewing of these short-films,” he added.
PlayButton short film festival is one of its kinds to adapt public voting of the nominated short films through PlayButton Mobile Android App. Taking place in the cultural city of Chennai, PlayButton short film festival is an intersection for young filmmakers, industry and media.
Short-Film makers can submit their entries through online visiting the www.playbutton.in website. Last date for submitting the entries shall be on or before March 23rd 2018. PlayButton android app developed by Hexapedia.com will be the medium for initial viewing and voting on these short-films. Makers can request their family, friends and social media followers to vote for their short-film by downloading the PlayButton App.
“Opportunities are very stringent, especially in the field of filmmaking so we present this opportunity and the reward for winner of this event is going to be a life changing reward unlike other cash rewards of any other film festival, I promise,” said Mikhail Gorbatov, Director of RCSC, Chennai. “Reward is going to be a big surprise and shall be announced soon,” he added.
