C.V.Kumar has made a name for himself in the Tamil Film industry producing movies like Attakathi, Pizza, Soodhu Kavvum, Thegidi and the recent Iraivi. He also has been instrumental in the launch of Ranjith and Santosh Narayan who are currently working in Kabali.
He has an eye for talent. Now C.V.Kumar is directing a movie and the expectations are high. “Mayavan” has Sandeen Kishan and Lavanya in the lead roles. C.V.Kumar has this to say “ When I had the plot of this movie I called Nalan Kumarasamy and asked him to direct it for me. He liked the story and then told me to direct and he would take care of the screenplay.
I was hesitant to take up direction but my friends around me goaded me to take up direction. After that I started work on it and now the movie is towards completion. The movie has “Sandeep Kishan” who was the hero of “Yaaru da Mahesh” and Lavanya who acted in “Bramman”.
The movie is a crime thriller. The movie has come out well. I have always contributed in all the movies that I have produced hence I was bold enough to take up direction. I have realized the difference between being a producer and a director. When I announced that I will be directing this film Gnanavelraja came forward to produce this movie.
