Known for poetic titles such as ‘Pagal Nilavu’ and ‘Kannathil Muthamittal’, Mani Ratnam is at it again. The ace director has named his next movie as ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’.
No prizes for guessing that the title has been inspired by a popular line from a Bharathiyar poem. Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari are playing lead roles in this flick, with RJ Balaji doing a key character.
Happy about being part of a Mani Ratnam movie, Balaji posted on Twitter: “And this did happen for real.Grew up watching his films and now to be part of a Maniratnam Film. Feels like a dream.” He also uploaded a selfie of him with the ace filmmaker.
Karthi is playing a pilot in this romantic thriller. Music is by A R Rahman, while lyrics are by Vairamuthu. “Three songs have already been composed,” sources said.
