About the Inauguration Program
The inauguration of the Toilets in the individual households and schools was held in the presence of Mr.V.Jayakumar, Project Director (DRDA), Kancheepuram. Additionally, tables and chairs were distributed for the schools.
About Adarsh Gram Yojana Project (2016 -18)
FICCI Ladies Organisation, Chennai Chapter adopted 4 villages (Thellimedu, Venkatapuram, Mettucolony & Sastharampakkam) in Venkatapuram Panchayat, Kancheepuram in April 2016, under the Adarsh Gram Yojana Project. This initiative was started in order to develop them into Model Smart Villages. Since then, FLO has been supporting Government Schools for its Infrastructure Development, Organizing free evening Tuition Centres for under-privileged children, Constructing Toilets for Schools & households under the Open Defecation Free Program, Conducting free Medical Camps, Health Awareness programs, Implementing Solid Waste Management (SWM) at Schools, and Conducting Yoga Classes for School Children.
