Shrine of Apostle St. Thomas and Our Lady of Health is located in the city of Chennai at Saidapet on the Raj Bhawan Road. This is one of the ancient churches of Chennai. Every year after the fourth Saturday and Sunday after Easter the parish community commemorates the annual feast in a magnificent manner for several centuries.
This year the annual feast will be celebrated from 9th of May to 19th of May. On Thursday the 9th May at 6 PM in the presence of Rev. Dr. Antony Devotta DD( Bishop Emeritus of Trichy) the flag hoisting will take place. During these novena days, every day special masses will be celebrated by various celebrants. On Sunday the 12thMay Eucharistic day will be celebrated by Most Rev. Dr. A.M. Chinnappa DD. SDB. (Bishop Emeritus of Madras –Mylapore).
On Wednesday the 15th May Rt. Rev. Dr. Lawrence Pius DD (Bishop of Dharmapuri) will preside over the family day mass celebration. On Saturday 19th May the grand car procession will be presided over by Rt. Rev. Dr . Neethinathan DD. Bishop of Chengalput. On the last day of feast on Sunday the 19th May at 6 pm lowering of the flag and thanks giving mass will be offered by Most. Rev. Dr. George Antonysamy DD, Archbishop of Madras – Mylapore .
