VENDHU THANIDHADHU KAADU MOVIE REVIEW

VENDHU THANIDHADHU KAADU s a musical gangster film directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, written by B. Jeyamohan and produced by Ishari K. Ganesh. This is the first part of GVM’s planned duology.

VTK is written by the eminent writer Jeyamohan and yes you can see the novel like indulgence in the screenplay writing. There are many moments that are arduous to watch. The movie takes its own sweet time to unravel, though we are quite aware how things would unfold. Storywise VTK is nothing new and the first half is kind of average despite the predictability. The interval block is intriguing. The second half is where the film plummets and there are inconsistencies when GVM with his trademark romance comes back with a few of his own tiresome scenes. The film is jumpy at many places and the climax clearly looks to have deviated from its original plan and falters badly.

Silambarasan has after a long time delivered a decent performance. Siddhi Idhani is good especially being a debutant.

Siddhartha Nuni’s cinematography is fine. ARR’s background score is brilliant and the songs are above average. Dialogues are good and editing could have been sharp. Direction by GVM is uptight.

VTK is a new attempt with a new combo, sadly it goes down as an opportunity wasted.

VENDHU THANINDHADHU KAADU – VEKKADU !!
