VANDHA RAJAVADHAN VARUVEN MOVIE REVIEW

Vandha Rajavadhan varuven is produced by Lyca and is directed by Sundar C. VRV is a frame by frame remake of the popular Telugu hit “Attarintiki Daredi” that had Pawan Kalyan playing the lead. The original was no great shake but was helped by the screen presence of Pawan Kalyan and scintillating music by DSP. Yes this is one of those movies where you trade your brains for your movie ticket knowingly. The film in the name of entertainment and fun is annoyingly painful with few moments of respite. The comedy is as flat as the movie screen and the engagement factor close to nil because of its elastic phoniness.

Simbu with his uncomfortably placed shoulders rigorously does what he is known to do. Catherine Teresa has little to do in a small role. Megha Akash is a better bet with her freshness. Yogi Babu is wasted. Robo Shankar is ineffective and the veterans old and jaded.

Gopi Amarnath’s cinematography despite good locales is just decent. Hip Hop Tamizha’s music is straight out of their déjà vu juke box. Editing by Srikanth is OK. Dialogues are bland and direction by Sundar C is disappointing.
VRV is badly remade.
