VAIGAI EXPRESS MOVIE REVIEW

Shaji Kailash – RK duo is back once again in their comfort zone “murder mystery” wanting to replicate the success of Ellam Avan Seyal after their previous dud.

Adapted from an English novel to a Malayalam movie and now a Tamil script, VE falters terribly right from the stage of scripting and a very poor screenplay. Murder mysteries are supposedly thrillers but this one moves at a snail pace and does not engage the audience one bit. It also suffers from poor dialogues and a very lethargic narration, ironically even without songs.

The performances pull the movie further down. RK is not in his zone and goes overboard with his silly stunts and annoying punches. Neetu Chandra is the only redeeming character in the movie while the others are plain routine.

Cinematography by Sanjeev Shankar is ordinary while Thaman tries to match the hero with his garish background score and viewers are thankfully spared of songs in the movie. The editor has little content to work with and dishes out a plain fare.

Vaigai Express on the whole is a total non starter.
