Tubelight Movie Review

The title Tubelight is more popular because of Salman Khan and this namesake tubelight in Kollywood is expected to turn a few heads. The movie is produced by Ravi Narayanan and is helmed by Indra who acts, directs as well as composes for the film.

The story though with a potential for lot of comic situations does not manage to hold the viewer’s interest for long. The sloppy screenplay does not help and too many farce and clownish moments pulls down the script considerably. A mockery is made out of the medical condition and the treatment as the viewer with no surprises, clearly makes out that this is going anywhere but downhill.

Indra as the male lead tries his best and at times though he genuinely looks the part he plays still has a long way to go. Aadithi as the female lead is OK while a senior actor like Pandiarajan behaves like a clown throughout. Others are moderate

Cinematography is good by Sridhar and music is by Indra who spends a lot of time in orchestration that can be an ear sore. Dialogues are decent while direction for a newbie is standard.

TUBELIGHT could have been interesting had they worked a little more on scripting and execution.

TUBELIGHT – LOW VOLTAGE !
