TRAFFIC RAMASAMY MOVIE REVIEW

TRAFFIC RAMASAMY is a household name in Chennai and his amusing exploits are folklore here.  Produced by Erode Prabhakar, Vicky debutant helms this film.

What should have been an inspirational story though it is loosely based on the real activist turns out to be a sham of proceedings. The script itself is based on incidences in the life of TR that are cinematically decorated which turns out to be cartoonish in execution. It is ironic that the movie breached the censors despite mocking “judges” in the courtroom who mostly are played by senior actors/actresses performing like caricatures. There is nothing convincing in neither the film to inspire nor anything in it to entertain.

SA Chandrashekar who plays the titular role is meek and does not deliver. There are a host of senior actors who come and go but do not impress because of the silliness in their characterization. RK Suresh makes somewhat of an impression in this sordid tale.

There is nothing to write about technically in this movie. Kugan s Palani’s cinematography is average, while music by Balamurali Balu is loud and sad. Dialogues are poor and editing by Prabhakar is poor. Direction by debutant Vicky is amateurish.

Traffic Ramasamy with the right intention and mindset should have been a huge encouragement to the people of the state to try and fight for their rights. What in turn we get is a silly movie that is trash all the way through
