Thondan Movie Review

Samuthrakanni is well known for his “preachy” formulae in Kollywood and he is back now after his successful previous movie “Appa”.

Samuthrakanni plays an ambulance driver which is quite unusual and the story revolves around the ambulance driver. The movie in terms of story and screenplay offers nothing new and more or less throughout the film stays on very predictable lines. SK’s preachiness works at times and the rest of the times it gets very lecturish. The saving grace is a few comedy scenes of Soori and Thambi Ramaiah.

SK is comfortable in his “Anna Hazare” character while Vikranth as his disciple just about manages. Sunaina is fine as SK’s love wife while others do their job well.

Richard behind the camera does a very functional job while AL Ramesh manages to give Thondan a nice cut. Justin Prabhakaran’s musical score disappoints big time because he is one with very potential.  The dialogues in the movie are quite standard while direction by SK is neat.
Thondan could very well be SK’s weakest script that begins quite aggressively but then on goes on and on resulting in a very lame ending.

THONDAN – SEYYALATRAVAN !!
