Thirunaal Movie Review

thirunal“Thirunaal” is the comeback vehicle for the successful Jeeva + Nayanthara pair after the critically acclaimed movie “Ee”. Directed by Ramnath this movie that was long due has finally hit the silver screen.

The story is a throwback to the 80’s, if only the lead actors are not new you could very well be watching a K TV matinee show movie on the large screen. This revenge saga is so bad and predictable that the message that the director wished stays with him and never gets translated on the screen.

Its shocking to see real good actors in Jeeva and Nayanthara act in an insipid movie as this. To see Jeeva put his heart in this really bad script is real sad. Nayanthara does her job as expected. The others in the movie are crowded and disappear towards the end.

The cinematography is largely basic with the background score very annoying. The songs do not last beyond the theatre and the dialogues just communicate the trash that we already know. The writing lacks any originality and is devoid of commonsense. Direction helped by performances is otherwise very basic.

There was much expected from this “EE” pair of talented actors and what in turn we get is a pathetic revenge saga that is neither commercially good nor does it communicate any message.
