Entertaining and engaging
‘Remo’ is one of the most awaited movies of the year, as it features Sivakarthikeyan in a never-seen-before role. Promising to be a fun-filled ride, the film stars Keerthy Suresh as the female lead, with Sathish to take care of the laughs. Directed by Bakiyaraj Kannan, the movie has music by Anirudh, whose seven songs are topping the charts.
1: Tamilselvi: Sung by Nakash Aziz, this solo number has the music of variety of instruments, all blended into one. The icing on the cake being Anirudh’s rendition for the chorus lines written by Vignesh Shivan.
2: Sirikkathey: This one with lyrics by Vignesh Shivan, has come right in time for the rains. Dripping with romance, the singers Arjun Kanungo and Srinidhi Venkatesh have created magic with their vocals. The subtle orchestration complements them perfectly.
3: Remo Nee Kadhalan: This peppy number was destined to be a chartbuster right from the word go. Sung at a breathtaking pace by Anirudh, this Vignesh Shivan-lyrical gives a sneak peek into the lead character’s transformation.
4: Daavuya: Trust Santosh Narayanan to render ’gaana’ like a dream. With his quirky voice, this song with a mix of Tamil and English wordings by Ku Karthik, has everything going for it in terms of its beats.
5: Meesa Beauty: Anirudh lends his voice once again to this one, along with Richard. The two of them manage to pull off this complex number without any fuss. Slowly drawing you in, this one written by Vivek, easily finds its way into the playlists.
6: Senjitaley: Safely called the song of the album, this has been the public’s favourite for a long time now. Rendered by Anirudh again, with just the right amount of peppiness in his voice, Senjitaley’s chorus portions, that has lines by Vignesh Shivan, deserve special applause.
7: Come closer (Sirikathey reprise): This acoustic version of the earlier number, is sung and worded creatively by Inno Genga. With no changes to the original tune, the song still manages to hold its own in the album.
