PYAR PREMA KADHAL MOVIE REVIEW

PPK is U1’s(Yuvan Shankar Raja) maiden production venture that is written and directed by Elan. New comers but widely recognized pair of Harish Kalyan and Razia of last year Big Boss play the lead roles.

Elan manages to weave in PPK a romantic drama that is engaging with an interesting screenplay and a few uncomomplicated twists that for sure would find its appeal among the young crowd. What works in the film is the neat characterization that does not go overboard and stays within bounds. Even the “messaging “is not loudly said and is not preachy. Point of views expressed are plain and simple. The downside also could be this that it is not intense and at times there is a feeling of “nothing is happening”.  PPK redeems itself in the climax.

Harish Kalyan is the find of PPK and does a wonderful job. He is at ease in his character and looks very comfortable in expressing emotions. Razia too is quite decent and their chemistry works for most part of the film. Anandbabu is back after a long break and this film should get him a few more offers. Others are quite OK in their roles.

Visually the film is pleasing with some good work behind the camera from Raju Bhattacharjee. U1 is in form with his youthful numbers that are already a hit and his background score fits in good. Edited by Manikumaran PPK scrapes through without any trouble. Dialogues are decent and direction by Elan is quite good.

PPK is refreshing and simple, a decent watch with some wonderful perfomances and without complications.
