Oru Mugathirai is a touted psychological thriller that is a little unusual in Kollywood and this film is helmed by Senthilnathan.
The plot that has its base on psychology should have been very exciting and not to blame the plot manages to catch the attention at the beginning, but 15 minutes into the movie you kind of know where the movie is going and the audience interest waning. It should have been an interesting game of minds with the hunter and the hunted both playing psychologists but what you in turn have is a damp squib. There is another track in the movie that makes no sense.
Rahman is the new heavy weight character artiste and is at ease in his character. The others in the cast are cast aptly and do well.
The technical team too is quite decent and deliver an average fare be it behind the camera Sharavana Pandian or the music director in Prem Kumar. The dialogues are standard while the screenplay is very dull and the direction moderate.
Oru Mugathirai is a letdown despite having a very decent plot and cast.
