ORU MELLIYA KODU MOVIE REVIEW

oru melliya koduAM Ramesh is well acknowledged for making mystery movies and OMK is another “Whodunnit” movie from his stable. It was purported to be based on Sunanda Pushkar’s murder investigation while it turns out that it draws its inspiration from a Spanish Movie.

The story is a murder mystery that is quite engaging with very little waywardness in the script as well as screenplay. The objective to remain focused on the plot is one of the major strengths of the movie. Though a few scenes are lengthy the screenplay overall maintains the suspense. The twists keep the guess work going.

Arjun as the cop waltzes through the role, his restrained performance is quite decent. Shaam shows a marked improvement and does justice to his role. Manisha Koirala as the rich woman fits the role in bits and pieces.
Cinematography with all its hues and contours works well. Ilayaraya does well with his BG score. Direction by AMR is above average.

On the whole OMK is not as sharp as a thriller it ought to be, but it is still worth a watch.
