“Muthina Kathirika” is an official remake of a Malayalam movie. Sundar C is back after a long interval and the name of the movie is supposedly apt for the hero who plays the character of in his 40’s. Though the premise as well as the casting looks quite OK, “Muthina Kathirika” is much worse than a rotten eggplant.
Though a decent plot the story is very flimsy and an exasperating screenplay does not help either. In the name of being funny and comical, the scenes are foolhardy and take the viewers for granted. There are hardly any scenes that evoke genuine laughter and mostly it’s a pain sitting through the movie.
Sundar C fits the role in age, but as the character he is hardly convincing. As usual in such silly scripts the women have hardly anything to do other than supplement the nonsense with their stupidity in the name of innocence. The comedy is supposedly by Sathish who is wooden throughout. The rest of the cast are loud and brash.
Technically the movie is as bad behind, as it is on the screen. Insipid cinematography and lousy music make the experience even worse. The rest of the departments deserve no mention.
