MEENDUM ORU KADHAL KADHAI MOVIE REVIEW

MOKKMithran Jawahar famous for his remake of hit movies is back again with the remake of Malayalam hit “Thattathi Mariyathu”.

The story is not new nor is the plot which sticks to the routine without even a few surprises thrown in, but what works for the movie is the sincerity of the script and the effectiveness of its screenplay. The movie does boast of cinematic fantasies but is told in a cute way that it lures the viewer into believing them. The scenes though archaic and some melodramatic still manages to evade criticism because of its charm it works on its viewers.

The biggest positive of the movie are the actors in it. The lead actors lend a certain appeal to their performance that makes the viewer stay engrossed. Walter Philips plays the role of a diehard romantic and plays the role very well for a new comer. He is quite a natural. Isha Talwar too is good in her role as the muslim girl. The others in the movie do a commendable job save for the inspector who tends to go a little over the bridge.

The cinematography is top notch and helps a lot in the scenes being visually very appealing. The back ground score could have been better and the songs could have been a lot more better.  Editing is a fine job done. Dialogues though good, could have been much more impressive. The director deserves credit for doing a neat job with the task given to him.

On the whole MOKK is like a whiff of fresh air for the Tamil audience after a deluge of horror and mass movies. A feel good film with a good dose of romance thrown in, true, it does lack in intensity and is cliché as well, but does away with all the loudness and the flashiness associated with movies these days.  The movie works big time with its intrinsic, honest and most of all a very decent delivery.
