Uday sankar a debutant handles the writing and direction for Konjam Konjam. This movie is produced by Betty and Mohan and has a bevy of newcomers.
Udya dishes out an emotional drama that is age old, but does not even bother to treat it or execute it differently. The movie begins somewhere and goes nowhere. The comedy the emotions the sentiments nothing stick and it’s a bland fare all the way till the end.
Newcomer Gokul does a decent job while Neenu is naïve as his love interest. Appukutty and the rest are OK in this insipid drama.
Cinematography by Nikki Kannan is the saving grace of the movie and the sceneries are nicely captured. Vallavan scores decent music that might go largely unnoticed. Editing by Renjith is not enough while the dialogues are pretty standard. Direction for a debutant still lacks luster.
On the whole Konjam Konjam has a very few things going for it.
