KO2 Movie Review

ko2KO2 is supposedly the sequel to the very successful KO. KO had a very average plot but was made with some good screenplay, interesting performances and able direction. KO2 on the other hand has a very good plot and story, but is let down by a shoddy screenplay, very average performance and insipid direction.

KO2 is a political thriller that revolves around the kidnapping of the Chief Minister and the reasons behind it. What could have been a very fine film is messed up by poor handling of the script. The story is smartly constructed and the message that it intends to convey is meant well. But it is the screenplay that makes a mockery out of the script. The inflicted humor falls flat and the way the investigation officer is caricatured leaves a bad taste. The presentation is dull and production standards very ordinary.

Bobby Simha is as stiff as you can get in his performance. His wig has more avatars than his expressions. The heroine Nikki Galrani is effortless in her less demanding role and the other are just plain boring. Karunakaran comes good in a small role. Prakash Raj is his usual self.

There are two above average songs in the movie helped by a decent back ground score. The cinematography is functional and the editing muddled. Direction is the biggest casualty in the movie and this effectively proves how an ordinary movie like KO could make an impact. KO2 despite having a better story falls flat. With a bigger star and a better director KO2 could have been a bumper hit with a wonderful timing for release

KO2 –Go for it once!!
