KAVAN MOVIE REVIEW

KV Anand is recognized for his speedy entertainers with captivating visuals and wonderful music. Maatran was the only debacle at the box office.

At the outset KAVAN is not a patch on KO. While KO was focused on one issue, in KAVAN, KV churns out a mixed dish that does not stick. The script targets everything that is a problem in the society and yet sadly does not make a credible impression. Though the movie does not digress with most of the contemporary templates available in commercial potboilers Kavan still tries to most of the time play to the gallery and luckily could even end up being successful at it.

Vijay Sethupathi plays a subtle role and performs decently. Kavan has a huge star cast and they all do their roles as expected with none trying to outperform any. T Rajendar and Pandiarajan have very little to do despite being popular names. The villain is cartoonish.

Abinandan’s camerawork despite being a KV film suffers and does not stand out like his previous ventures. Hip Hop Tamizha with the musical score plays it safe and the songs don’t register. Dialogues oscillate between being good and bad while editing by Antony stays true to his form. Direction by KV is as usual.

KAVAN sadly is very predictable though its intention is good. Its loud and fails to get the message across strongly.

KAVAN – THEVALAM !!
