KANNE KALAIMANE MOVIE REVIEW

Udaynidhi Stalin produces and acts in this film that is written and directed by Seenu Ramasamy who is famous for such rural flicks.

Typecasting KK as a typical rural flick would be wrong for KK treads on a totally different path. With laid back settings, easier cast and listless characters KK moves at a snail’s pace with little drama on screen and virtually no action. It is not that it does not have a story to tell. Yes there is a decent story and some “messages” as garnish as well but then nothing holds the attention of the viewer because of a very humdrum screenplay.

Udaynidhi without doubt has grown as an actor, it would not be an exaggeration to say he shows improvement in every film of his much better than some of his “star” contemporaries. Tamannah is OK in a role that has some meat. Vadivukkarasi is good in her function that she has played a number of times, while the rest don’t matter.

Jalandhar Vasan does a good job behind the camera. U1 has little drama on screen for his famous BG and works decent with the songs. Kasi Viswanathan, the editor has modest work to do. Dialogues are OK and direction is standard.

KANNE KALAIMANE tries to attempt at being soulful as the namesake song but is dull and laborious.

KANNE KALAIMANE – OOMAI !!
