KAALA KOOTHU MOVIE REVIEW

Madurai Kallaalagar Entertainment produces this film that is directed by Nagarajan.

KK rather begins very interestingly with a few intense moments setting up the audience for a nice ride and inexplicably it takes a downward turn and till the end it fails to rise. There are some real nice moments in the film but they are lost in a very cliché plot that holds no surprises. In trying to be message oriented, the movie loses its plot midway so much that the movie leaves a lot of unexplained knots. The films slow pace does not help either.

Kalairasan and Prasanna have given their characters its due and do well. Dhansika is OK while Srushti Dange is average. Others in the movie are OK.

Cinematography by PV Shankar is apt, Justin Prabhakaran continues to churn decent music and is good with his background score. Selva’s editing is decent with the material on hand while dialogues are OK. Nagarajan’s direction is good.

KAALA KOOTHU could have turned out really well had it not taken the formulaic route.

KAALA KOOTHU – KAALA THAMADHAM.
