DORA MOVIE REVIEW

Nayanthara is a name that sells in Tamil cinema and “Maya” proved it without a doubt.  Dass Ramasamy’s debut “Dora” has Nayanthara playing the lead role again.

Dora is once again a revenge saga and a futile attempt at showcasing it as a horror film. It takes an agonizing half an hour before the viewer begins to understand where it all is leading to. If it gets a little interesting Dora gets badly mauled with predictability and silly execution. Though its commendable that the team does not stick to the beaten to death horror movie templates from Kollywood it’s disappointing that the attempt at providing something good does not materialize.

Nayanthara holds her own, and there is no doubt that she manages to carry the movie on her strong shoulders.  Thambi Ramaiah is as annoying as he has been in past few movies and here he pushes it much further. Harish Utthaman in the role of police officer delivers decent.

Dinesh behind the camera has done a good job, ably supported by the CG team.              While the duo Vivek and Mervin on the music front too come out good. Editing is average while direction for a newcomer is fine.

Dora – watch it for Nayanthara, the car and the dog.

DORA – NAYANTHARA !!
