AVATAR – 2 WAY OF WATER MOVIE REVIEW

Avatar The Way of Water is a science fiction action film and sequel to the 2009 film Avatar, both directed by James Cameron. The film is distributed by 20th Century Studios, as the second installment in the Avatar film series. Cameron produced the film with Jon Landau and wrote the screenplay with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, which is based on a story the three wrote with Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno.

James Cameroon has been a legendary name in Hollywood with some spell binding films to his credit. The prequel for this film, AVATAR made quite a huge sensation a good 13 years back. This film takes off from where the first version ended. AVATAR 13 years back was fresh and unique in its treatment, this sequel offers nothing new. With all the emotions intact the script is a roller coaster ride. The plot is simple yet confused and the screenplay has its loopholes despite the brilliant VFX. At some points there is a feeling of it being long drawn. At more than 3 hours it can be quite a task to keep up the tempo but the climax is to watch out for. The bigger the screen the better the film feels.

The actors do a fantastic job in the film. Jakes Sully is brilliant. Zoe Saldana, Clif Curtiss, and Kate Winslet compliment wonderfully and the elevate the scenes to a different level.

Technically the film is on a different scale and level. The VFX is simply exceptional and the 3D makes it better. Russel Carpenter ‘s cinematography is simply outstanding and the underwater scenes are to watch out for. Simon Franglen’s background score is amazing. Editing could have been sharper. Dialogues are good and director James Cameroon yet again proves himself to be a master craftsman.

AVATAR 2 is an amazingly packaged Christmas gift costlier than the present inside…
