There is no magic food to eat for good health. Feed your growing body by making better food choices today for a healthier tomorrow. With growing emphasis on eating healthy among the public lately, the city bagged a unique world record on these lines on Wednesday.

The Geo India Foundation in association with the Airports Authority of India, under the supervision of Chef Padayal Sivakumar created a world record by cooking a whopping 300 dishes without using oil or fire in just five minutes. It was made by 300 persons comprising of Airport staff and college students who were trained for 48 hours.

The important highlights of the dishes are that they are all made from organic fruits and vegetables and served in eco-friendly products.

A few interesting items in the 300 dishes include pearl millet laddu, pumpkin kolukattai, fig juice, hibiscus gheer, Ivy guard and mothi bean pasumai koottu, mango pasumporiyal, navadhaniya sprout milk, pomegranate rice, orange rice, Badam pisin jam, tender coconut jam, java plum kesari and sapota payasam.

Talking about the attempt, Chef Padayal Sivakumar said, “All the ingredients used in the dishes today are regular day to day ingredients that a Tamil Nadu household usually uses. This attempt is to show people that one can live a healthy life if they eat a balanced diet. One might wonder how Idly is made without heat, we did it by using flattened rice that doesn’t require to be cooked.”

Many celebrities took part in the event to witness the world record including Airport Authority Director Mr. chandaramouli, Mr. Mohammed Anikar, Anikar Trust and actress Anjanna.
Most oils are high in sodium, fat and concentrated calories – three major things we do not need in our bodies. We can get all the wholesome nutrients we need, without the empty calories, from a natural, plant-based diet. A major advantage of cooking without oil is the amount of unnecessary added fats you will be eliminating from your meals. If you’re working on losing weight or maintaining a healthier heart, you do not need the fat from oils. Cooking oils are packed with saturated fats which raise cholesterol levels in your blood. According to a research, the average man should not consume more than 30 grams of saturated fat a day, while the average woman should have less than 20 grams.

The event was held at Chennai Airport Marriage Hall and it was a part of the Healthy Lifestyle festival where exibitors were educating visitors on how they can lead a healthy lifestyle.
