Traditional lanterns and a festival menu — Chin Chin is celebrating the arrival of the Year of the Rooster, the Chinese New Year, in style. The rooster is the sign of dawn and awakening; a pre requisite to triumph and success achieved with hard work and patience in 2017.
Enter the dragon’s lair at our award winning restaurant to experience a taste of Chinese customs; true to a Chinese saying, ‘China is the place for food, but Sichuan is the place for flavour’, the dishes are robust with an abundance of dried chilies, Sichuan pepper and fragrant garlic. Under the magical touch of Chef Shan, the delightful celebration comes alive.
Chin Chin presents the tradition of Yusheng – tossing the prosperity salad at the beginning of the meal is considered symbolically significant of “good luck” for the New Year. The ingredients comprise of fresh vegetables like ginger, melon, lime, cucumber & leek, flavoured with sesame, pepper, cinnamon & pok chui biscuits.

When cooked, it can be presented in several ways – sautéed, fried, pan tossed, baked, steamed – and many more. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, the meat remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.
Opening the new menu for the festivities is the highlight –
the Shanghai Roast Chicken; this delicacy makes one imagine a golden brown poultry fresh off the skillet, whose skin is crispy and crackly and whose meat is tender, moist and flavorful.
